Product Description

Nam Heng Safety Glass (NHG) Heat-strengthened Glass is produced through a slower cooling process, resulting in lower compression compared to fully tempered glass but higher than annealed glass. This type of glass does not experience spontaneous breakages due to nickel sulphide inclusions, making it a preferred choice except where tempered or laminated glass is mandated by law, wind load, or building codes.

We offer heat-strengthened glass in clear, various tints, solar control, low E glass, in a range of thicknesses and sizes, tailored to meet various specifications.

Ideal for/ Product Application

Thermal Stressed Areas: Use in spandrel and/or vision areas where added resistance to wind load and thermal stress is required.
Laminated Solariums: Glass-enclosed sunrooms.
High Wind Load Areas: Skyscrapers.
Laminated Skylights: Overhead glass installations.
Others: Windows, Shop Fronts, Curtain Walls, Balustrades.

Specification

Mechanical Strength: Approximately twice the strength of an annealed glass of equal thickness.
Thermal Strength: Greater resistance to thermal loads than annealed glass.
Safety: Not classified as a safety glazing product.
Dimensional Stability: With minimal warping, it is suitable for large glass applications requiring precise flatness.
Reduced
Deflection:
Provides better resistance to bending under load, ideal for applications exposed to wind pressure and other loads.
Durability: More resistant to scratches and impacts than regular glass, extending its lifespan in demanding environments.

Characteristic

What is Heat-Strengthened Glass? Approximately twice the mechanical and thermal strength of annealed glass of equal thickness.
Why Choose Heat-Strengthened Glass? Greater resistance to thermal loads than annealed glass, offering better thermal shock resistance and making it ideal for applications with frequent temperature fluctuations.
How is Heat-Strengthened Glass Made? Produced by cooling the glass more slowly, resulting in lower compression than fully tempered glass but higher than annealed float.

Performance Features

Improved Thermal Resistance: Withstands temperature differentials up to 150°C, making it suitable for applications with frequent fluctuations.
Safety feature: Breaks into large pieces instead of small fragments, enhancing safety compared to fully tempered and annealed glass. Not a safety glazing product.
Dimensional Stability: Ensures precise flatness, ideal for large glass applications.
Reduced
Deflection:
More resistance to bending or deflecting compared to annealed glass, enhancing performance in load-bearing situations.
Durability: More scratch and impact resistant than regular glass, extending lifespan in demanding environments.
