Product Description

Nam Heng Safety Glass (NHG) Annealed Glass, which is also known as a float glass or flat glass has not undergone additional processes such as heat strengthening or tempering. The manufacturing process involves annealing, a controlled cooling technique that helps prevent residual stress. During this process, hot glass is gently cooled in an annealing lehr, which releases internal stresses and prepares the glass for further processing.

Available in various colours, Annealed glass is versatile and can be cut, machined, drilled, edged, and polished. When annealed glass breaks, it forms large fragments with sharp edges, making it less ideal for applications that demand safety glass properties.

Product Overview

Type: Annealed / Float Glass
Surface: Smooth and clear
Applications: General use without high-impact requirements.

Characteristic

What is Annealed / Float Glass? Annealed / Float glass, is a type of flat glass that has not undergone additional strengthening processes.
Why Choose Annealed / Float Glass? Versatility: Can be cut machined, drilled, edged, and polished.
How is Annealed / Float Glass made? Annealing Process: Hot glass is cooled slowly in a controlled environment to relieve internal stresses, making it suitable for further processing.

Performance Features

Breakage: Not recommended for high-traffic or safety-critical areas due to the risk of forming sharp, large fragments when broken.
