The Beginning
Founded in 1996, Nam Heng Glass Group (NHG) began as a modest glass shop in Johor, Malaysia. Dato’ Tan Lai Huan, NHG’s founder, is the driving force behind the company’s vision to redefine glass as a transformative material that inspires limitless possibilities in modern design.
Over the years, NHG has grown from strength to strength, expanding our operations across Peninsular and East Malaysia. Today, we own the industry’s largest glass factory processor equipped with the largest frame tempering furnace and laminating processing lines. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, NHG is forging ahead to empower the application of glass in modern architecture.
The meaning of the word "Nam Heng"
南興
The name "Nam Heng" holds deep significance for our company. "Nam" meaning "south," reflects the early influence of Singapore, where Dato’ Tan Lai Huan gained invaluable experience and ignited his passion for the glass industry. This foundation inspired the establishment of Nam Heng, evolving from a modest shop in Johor, Malaysia to a renowned regional leader.
"Heng" translating to "constant" or "persistent," serves as a guiding principle, urging us to remain steadfast and true to our roots. It symbolises our commitment to perseverance, through challenges, as we continually strive for excellence and growth. Together, "Nam Heng" embodies the spirit of dedication and resilience that drives innovation and success.
